Editorial policy
Who is responsible for what you read here, how it is produced, and how to hold us to it.
Who is responsible
Slippage Desk is an independent, privately run publication. It is not a broker, an exchange or a financial adviser, and it holds no financial licence. The publisher is responsible for everything on the site. Pages are credited to The Slippage Desk because they are the work of the publication rather than of one named writer, and we do not invent author names or credentials to look more authoritative than we are.
You can reach us through the contact page.
How a page is produced
We use AI tools to draft and to review. We would rather describe that plainly than let you guess at it.
- One mechanism per page. The subject is fixed before anything is written.
- The draft is written under a single hard rule: it may not name a real venue, regulator or country, and it may not state any figure as a real one. Arithmetic is allowed only with numbers the page invents and declares.
- Two automated checks try to stop it. One mechanical, one editorial. Both are written to reject, not to approve.
- A failed draft gets one repair attempt. If it fails again it stays unpublished.
The full version of this process, and the reasoning behind the rule about numbers, is in how we check what goes on a page.
What we publish, and what we do not
- We publish explanations of mechanisms: what a thing is, why it exists, what it costs you, and where it is misread.
- We do not publish trading signals, price predictions or income promises.
- We do not say a venue is "safe" or "cheapest". Those are claims about a live state of the world that this site is not set up to verify.
- We do not reprint figures from other review sites. An unsourced number passed along gains nothing but mileage.
Dates
The date on a page is the day it was published. "Updated" changes only when the content changes. We do not refresh dates to make a page look new.
Referral income
Some links to venues are referral links and some earn us nothing. Neither kind decides what is written. Because our explainers take a mechanism as their subject rather than a company, there is no ranking for a commission to move in the first place. The detail is in the affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
If you find an error, send it to us with the page address. We check it, correct the page and update its date. We read messages weekly.
